Facebook Is Closing?

While browsing in the largest Indonesian community forum (KASKUS), I read a posting that says that facebook will be closed.

Then I try to find the information, and it was only an issue. Yet somehow the issue quickly spread.

Is it possible that there are certain people who really want to shut down facebook, Who's Know?

But perhaps that's fair, if there are certain people who wish to have facebook to stop the service, cause facebook now become the number one social networking website in the world.

Back to topic, this issue actually started from joke site weeklyworldnews.com posting, joke or expense which was read by users who do not know the ins and outs of the site and then pass it on.

Though weeklyworldnews site itself is a site that was used to provide an article excessive humor or jokes. Like the title of the article some humor that is Alien will attack the earth in 2011, or others, entitled How to sell soul to the devil: D.

And the most popular of FACEBOOK WILL END ON MARCH 15th! (Up to end March 15), the article got a response about 9000 comments. And the following one is seriously responding to the comments of the article:

hope this all info is fake... :( when i stay in office it is only one thing i can do
when i free is facebooking. don wanna lost it coz i met my love and still contact her via facebook anyway in cambodia facebook is the best way to keep in touch with friends n family oversea and local. so please i bagging u don shut this f*cking community down. best regard baby_B

But at last facebook have respond to the issue. Here are excerpts from detiknet

Means this emerging issue is hoax.

Setengah kaget juga sewaktu browsing saya membaca sebuah postingan forum yang mengatakan bahwa facebook akan ditutup.

Dan lantas saya coba cari informasinya, ternyata itu hanya isu belaka. Namun entah mengapa isu tersebut cepat tersebar.

Apa mungkin ada orang-orang tertentu yang memang ingin agar facebook ditutup, Who's Know?

Tapi mungkin wajar saja bila ada orang-orang tertentu yang ingin agar facebook menghentikan layanannya, secara facebook saat ini menjadi web jejaring sosial nomor satu di dunia.

Back to topic, sebenarnya isu ini dimulai dari sebuah postingan situs joke weeklyworldnews.com, yang kemudian joke atau candaan tersebut dibaca oleh user yang belum tahu seluk beluk situs tersebut dan lantas menyebarkannya.

Padahal situs weeklyworldnews sendiri merupakan situs yang sudah biasa menyediakan artikel humor atau jokes yang berlebihan. Seperti beberapa judul artikel humornya yaitu ALIEN SPACESHIPS TO ATTACK EARTH IN 2011 (Alien akan menyerang bumi pada 2011), atau yang lainnya yang berjudul HOW TO SELL YOUR SOUL TO THE DEVIL(Bagaimana menjual nyawa kepada setan) :D.

Dan yang paling populer yaitu FACEBOOK WILL END ON MARCH 15th!(Facebook akan berakhir 15 Maret), artikel tersebut mendapat respon sekitar 9000 komentar. Dan berikut salah satu komentar yang menanggapi secara serius artikel tersebut:
